A lot of the calls we receive are from seniors who really don’t need a nurse, but could use a friend. A “friend” in terms of someone that can provide them with non-medical care and services.
At our agency, non-medical home care services are usually provided by companions, Certified Nurses Aides or Home Health Aides. These woman (and men) are wonderful.
They step in when an older client is recovering from an illness or surgery, but rather than provide nursing care, they provide just a little extra help during the recuperation period.
